Getting Started with SummAize

Learn how to install and set up SummAize, and start summarizing content in minutes.

Installation

1. Add to Chrome

Visit the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome" to install SummAize. The extension will be added to your browser in seconds.

2. Pin to Browser

Click the extensions icon in Chrome (puzzle piece), find SummAize, and click the pin icon to keep it easily accessible in your browser toolbar.

3. Initial Setup

Click the SummAize icon to open the extension. Choose your preferred language and theme in the settings menu.

Basic Usage

Using the Floating Button

When you visit any webpage with article content, you'll see the SummAize floating button. Click it to instantly generate a summary of the page.

Custom Prompts

Need specific information? Use the custom prompt feature to ask questions about the content or request specific types of summaries.

Viewing History

Access your summary history anytime by clicking the history tab in the extension. You can review, copy, or delete previous summaries.

Pro Tips

Keyboard Shortcuts

Use Cmd+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows) to quickly submit custom prompts. This speeds up your workflow when asking multiple questions about the content.

Customize Button Position

Adjust the floating button position in settings to find the perfect spot that doesn't interfere with your reading experience.

Export Options

Choose between plain text and markdown formats when copying summaries. Markdown is perfect for maintaining formatting when pasting into note-taking apps.
